Mark Leckey’s Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore is a landmark video artwork that blends found footage with personal nostalgia and social commentary to document the evolution of British youth subcultures. Leckey used archival footage from television, amateur video recordings, and club promotional tapes, heavily manipulating his material and overlaying his ownsoundtrack of ambient drones and distored club noises. The visual pacing shifts between hypnotic repetition and disjointed montage to create a dreamlike, trance-inducing meditation on British nightlife and youth identity.
